Vance Baldwin, 52, of Boise and Pine, was taken from us suddenly on Friday, July 27, 2012, during an afternoon of being in the great outdoors.

A Boise memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. at Fire Station #14, located at 2515 S. Five Mile Road.

A Pine memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. at the South Fork Senior Center.

Vance was a member of the local 149, Boise Fire Department.

He did six years of military service in the USAF (four in Germany) and held several small jobs.

He thought being a firefighter was the best job anyone could have.

Vance's true passions were his wife, his daughter, the outdoors, Idaho and animals.

Vance was born in Arizona to C.E. and Verona Baldwin who preceded him in death.

Vance leaves a wife, Kate, and daughter, Alexandria, who felt his love every moment of every day. He is also survived by his sister, Stacie, and her children, Tannas and Teak, whom he loved like a father, his nieces and nephews "the Polleys" and his nieces "the Mawhinney's."

Vance was always surrounded by children and animals who can always pick out kindness, fun and a habit of dropping food.

Vance spent his last day enjoying Idaho, helping his community and being the best man he could be.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pine/Featherville Volunteer Ambulance, c/o 16 E. Trish, Pine, ID 83647.
