Brian Bateman, center, joins lead guitarist Gary Glaesemann and bass guitarist Matt Sisco as they jam out during an opening number at their concert at Carl Miller Park on Friday.

Featuring a compilation of original music, the Brian Bateman Blend visited Mountain Home to kick off this year's summer concert series at the city park.

Bateman, a 1989 graduate from Mountain Home High School, reflected on his early band beginnings, which started many years ago with a concert in the Hacker Middle School annex. The Summer Concert Series will continue July 27 featuring a concert by The Sweetback Sisters.

You are more than welcome to come and enjoy the beautiful parks that Mountain Home has to offer.....just leave the disgusting habit at home. Nobody said you can't come to the park if you are a smoker.

Chris is now in Afghanistan.
