Can't say enough nice things about our firemen

A couple of weeks ago, I was having lunch in Kurly's and a fire crew of around 20 came in to eat.

They were in their gear, all covered in soot, and had been fighting that big fire that was going on. They ate and then looked like they were getting ready to go out and hit it again... what amazing people!

Those same people put on another incredible fireworks display this year at the golf course. I couldn't believe what all had to happen to make the display so beautiful and safe, and how many wonderful organizations were helping with traffic, parking, cleanup, etc.

As the show continued on, little fires popped up here and there underneath, and I started to have a little fire freak-out session in my brain, but our awesome firefighters promptly, effectively, put all of those little bad boys out! I had nothing to fear, because they were on it and took care of business!

Seeing what all went into this year's successful fireworks display made me realize that in the past, I had taken for granted all of the work that it took to put on this excellent annual community event. I won't take it for granted again!

We are so blessed to have such a dedicated, great fire department, Citizen's On Patrol group, police department, Streetwalkers Fireworks Fundraising team, and all other organizations and individuals that make this happen.

I'm looking forward to next year's show!
