Statewide fire restrictions now in effect

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

A county-wide burn ban remains in effect following the approval of a resolution passed by the board of county commissioners last month.

The measure, approved June 28, follows a similar ban imposed days earlier within the city limits of Mountain Home and Glenns Ferry as well as inside the Mountain Home Rural Fire District.

This latest restriction, which is expected to expire by Oct. 31, comes as local officials increased the fire danger to "extreme" levels. It follows a recent meeting involving fire officials from across the county, including Mountain Home Air Force Base.
