The westbound side of the interstate near the Ada and Elmore county border reopened around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday after a single-vehicle crash triggered a brush fire.

The nearly 90-minute closure included a nearly seven-mile stretch of the highway between the Black's Creek Road off ramp at Exit 64 and the Mayfield Road off ramp at Exit 71.

Meanwhile, the on-ramp leading to the Stage Stop was also shut down temporarily as emergency crews responded to the crash and fire.

According to initial reports, the driver of the vehicle was able to safely escape before flames engulfed the vehicle.

As of 3:40 p.m., the fire was moving eastbound from the East Boise Port of Entry to the Ada and Elmore county line near milepost 72.
