Wind storm triggers local power outages, fires

The fast-moving storm toppled trees across the local area.

A wind storm that swept across southern Idaho on Monday was linked to at least three fires in Elmore County along with a series of power outages in several cities.

According to preliminary reports, the storm struck the Mountain Home area around 7 p.m. with maximum wind gusts reaching 41 miles per hour during the evening.

    So the fire by teapot was supposedly caused by down power lines. If this is the case does Idaho Power have to reimburse the fire department and BLM, just as if a landowners controlled fire gets out of control?
