Crews were able to contain the fire to the empty lot.

Battling the blaze
A fire crew from the Mountain Home Fire Department extinguishes hot spots following a brush fire that ignited dry vegetation at the corner of Canyon Creek Road and Northwest Merlot Drive on Friday.
