Dozens in local area attend hearings on F-35

Col. Bruce Smith, 366th Fighter Wing vice commander, briefs local residents on the draft version of the F-35 Environmental Impact Assessment during a public hearing last week at Mountain Home Junior High School.

Dozens of residents from Mountain Home, Grand View and communities in the Treasure Valley met with Air Force officials last week regarding potential plans to base a new fleet of jets at Mountain Home Air Force base.

With the base still in contention to receive the F-35 joint strike fighter, the Air Force held a series of meetings regarding a draft version of a document outlining the program's potential impact here.
