High school tennis squad ends season on mixed note

The Mountain Home Tigers tennis team closed out their regular season tennis schedule last week with the Tiger girls tennis team picking up two wins.

Kuna Girls 7, Mountain Home Girls 0

Kuna Boys 6, Mountain Home Boys 1

The Tigers lost a conference tennis match to Kuna at Richard Aguirre Park last Tuesday.

In girls singles, Kali Ireland lost the first match, 1-6, 0-6, Stephanie Farnsworth lost the second, 1-6, 4-6, and Heidi Rawlins lost the third match, 6-7 (2-7 tiebreaker), 4-6.

In girls doubles, Anna Martin and Leah Riley lost the first match, 2-6, 2-6, while Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger dropped the second match, 6-7 (8-10 tiebreaker), 0-6.

In boys singles, Kuna swept all three matches, 6-0, 6-0, as Timothy Austin, Andrew Turner and Dustin Emerson all fell at the net.

In boys doubles, Brad Foreman and Haydon Draper won the first match in three sets, 6-4, 6-7 (4-7 tiebreaker), 6-3, and Jeremy Gillies and Joe Spinazzolo lost the second match, 3-6, 2-6.

In mixed doubles, Eric Ward and Allie Draper lost the first match, 4-6, 2-6, and Jacob Hanson and Kiana Galloway went three sets before losing, 3-6, 6-4, 1-6.

The Tigers honored their seniors last Wednesday before their final home match against Nampa. Mountain Home swept all the girls matches against Nampa. Kali Ireland won the first girls singles match in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.

Stephanie Farnsworth won the second match, 6-1, 6-0, and Karina Guadarrama won the third match by default.

In girls doubles, Anna Martin and Leah Riley won the first match, 6-2, 6-2, and Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger won the second match, 6-2, 6-2.

In boys singles, Timothy Austin lost the first match, 1-6, 0-6, Daniel Courtright lost the second, 3-6, 5-7, and Ben Dearing dropped the third match, 3-6, 2-6.

In boys doubles, Mountain Home's Brad Foreman and Eric Ward lost the first match, 2-6, 4-6, and Jeremy Gillies and Joe Spinazzolo dropped the second, 3-6, 1-6.

In mixed doubles, Haydon Draper and Allie Draper lost the first match, 2-6, 3-6, and Jacob Hanson and Kiana Galloway lost the second match, 3-6, 3-6.

Mountain Home closed out its regular season tennis schedule at Columbia last Thursday where the girls came away with a win.

Mountain Home picked up two victories in girls singles as Kali Ireland won the first match by default and Stephanie Farnsworth won the second match, 6-0, 6-2. Kaitlyn Stevens lost the third match, 1-6, 0-6.

Mountain Home swept the girls doubles matches with Anna Martin and Leah Riley winning the first match, 6-2, 6-2, and Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger winning the second match, 6-1, 6-1.

In boys singles, Timothy Austin dropped the first match, 4-6, 0-6, Daniel Courtright lost the second match, 3-6, 1-6, and Ben Dearing lost the third match, 0-6, 0-6.

In boys doubles, Brad Foreman and Haydon Draper lost the first match, 0-6, 0-6, and Andrew Turner and Joshua Saporta lost the second match, 0-6, 0-6.

In mixed doubles, Eric Ward and Allie Draper lost the first match 3-6, 0-6, and Jacob Hanson and Kiana Galloway lost the second match 1-6, 1-6.

The District III 4A Tennis Tournament starts Thursday, May 10.
