Mountain Home Dancers Win Big

Members of the competition dance teams from Methods of Movement Dance and Performing Arts scored in a big way at the regional RELEVE' dance competition. The competiton team ranges in age from 5 years to 17 years old. The competition was held in the fine arts auditorium at The College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, April 21. The Mountain Home dancers presented 22 routines of different age divisions and skill levels including group routines and solo, duo, trios. The solo, duo, trio, dancers scored big by taking home 6 over all high score awards, 5 first place awards and 3 second place awards. Morgan McCluskey was crowned queen of the Senior Elite Division. Katie Iverson was crownwd queen of the Teen Elite Division.

The group routines were awarded 12 first place and 3 second place trophies. Seven of the first place awards were high point over all awards. The contemporary routine "You Got The World" entered in the Teen elite division was awarded the prize for best choreography and the artistic award.

All 22 routines entered by Methods of Movement qualified to compete at RELEVE'NATIONALS.

Methods of Movement competition teams also competed in the annual Canyon Rim Dance Classic in Twin Falls April 27 & 28.

This competition awards evaluations instead of placement trophies. Methods of Movement dancers earned 20 superior evaluations, 2 excellent evaluations,as well as numerous judges choice & choreography awards. The Canyon Rim Dance Classic is a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society. All proceeds including entry fees, gate & concessions are given to that cause. The Methods of Movement teams attend this competition every year and are proud to have contributed $2800. to this years "DANCERS FIGHT CANCER" fund.
