State to enact law banning texting and driving

A state law signed last week will make it illegal for drivers to write, send or receive electronic text messages behind the wheel.

Scheduled to take effect July 1, the bill signed by Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter makes Idaho the 37th state to enact a texting-while-driving ban.

  • They also need to ban hand held telephones as the other states around us have already done.

    Take a good look around and see all the idiots trying to talk and drive at the same time. Most can't do it.
