Corder deserves our support

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Dear editor,

I have known Tim Corder for more than 30 years; first as a friend, neighbor and fellow farmer, and now as a Senator. Tim and Lavonne didn't start out with much, but with hard work and sound and conservative decision making, they managed to maneuver through some pretty tough times when others didn't make it.

It wasn't luck. Tim thinks things through then goes ahead with purpose. Tim is also a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. He probably wouldn't tell you that for his own sake.

I don't understand why Tim wants to do what he is doing, but I cannot imagine anyone better. Tim works hard, is absolutely honest and honorable, and does a superb job of keeping people informed.

There are no secrets, because Tim says what is on his mind and then does what he says. Tim maintains eight years of newsletters on his website at www.senatortimcorder.com.

Tim listened to the people in 2011 about education and voted against the changes that continue to shift the cost of education back to the property tax. Tim understands taxation and supports the premise that government really is the best that is closest to home.

He doesn't just say that -- he votes that way.

Tim has been an excellent voice and vote for the people of Elmore and Boise counties for eight years. Please join me in voting on May 15th and help keep Tim in the position he has earned and worked hard for. Owyhee, Twin Falls, and Elmore counties need Tim Corder.

Thank you,

-- Mark Theener
