Tennis squad falters at net

The Mountain Home Tiger tennis team faltered at the net as they dropped matches on the road against Nampa, Bishop Kelly and Kuna over the past week.

Mountain Home lost to Bishop Kelly in conference tennis Tuesday at Bishop Kelly.

In girls singles, Stephanie Farnsworth lost the first match, 1-6, 1-6. Brytany Minder lost the second match, 1-6, 0-6, while Kaitlyn Stevens lost the third match, 1-6, 1-6.

In girls doubles, Anna Martin and Leah Riley lost the first match, 1-6, 1-6, with Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger winning the second match, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.

In boys singles, Timothy Austin was blanked 0-6, 0-6, in the first match. Brad Foreman lost the second match, 2-6, 2-6, while Daniel Courtright lost the third match, 1-6, 2-6.

In boys doubles, Andrew Turner and Joshua Saporta dropped the first match, 1-6, 0-6, while Jeremy Gillies and Joe Spinazzolo lost the second match, 0-6, 1-6.

In mixed doubles, Drew Borgholthaus and Allie Draper lost the first match, 1-6, 2-6, with Haydon Draper and Heidi Rawlins losing the second match, 0-6, 1-6.

The Tigers had some competitive games with Kuna but were blanked by the Kavemen last Thursday at Kuna.

In girls singles, Stephanie Farnsworth lost the first match, 2-6, 1-6. Meanwhile, Kali Ireland lost the second match, 2-6, 0-6, with Kaitlyn Stevens losing the third match, 1-6, 1-6.

In girls doubles, Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger lost the first match, 5-7, 0-6, while Heidi Rawlins and Karina Guadarrama lost the second match, 2-6, 2-6.

In mixed doubles, Drew Borgholthaus and Allie Draper lost the first match, 2-6, 3-6, and Jacob Hanson and Kiana Galloway lost the second match, 2-6, 3-6.

Mountain Home also lost a tennis match at Nampa. The Tigers hosted Columbia on Monday before they travel to Skyview on Thursday, April 12, and head to Jerome on Saturday.
