Medical center officials outline proposed merger

Representatives from Elmore Medical Center will host a series of meetings starting this Tuesday to outline a proposed merger with a regional medical center.

Facing a vote of approval by county residents during the May 15 primary, the plan to merge Elmore Medical Center's hospital district and St. Luke's Health System follows a series of meetings between both agencies over the past 18 months.

    As a current patient of St Luke's and a past patient of EMC, I think that if St Luke's can instill 1/3 of the caring they have showed me and my family, it will greatly improve treatment at EMC. I am not saying I will vote yes, I want to know more details but my gut reaction is to vote YES..
