Mountain Home's tennis squad picks up win over Jerome

The Mountain Home Tiger tennis teams came away with a split of their matches last week, losing to Caldwell but beating Jerome. Their March 20 match against Emmett was postponed due to wet weather.

Mountain Home hosted Caldwell in a conference match last Wednesday and came up on the short end of the match.

In girls singles, Stephanie Farnsworth lost the first match, 0-6, 0-6. Brytany Minder lost the second match, 0-6, 0-6, while Karina Guadarrama dropped the third, 0-6, 1-6.

In girls doubles, Anna Martin and Leah Riley dropped the first match, 0-6, 1-6, while Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger lost the second, 4-6, 1-6.

In boys singles, Timothy Austin lost the first match, 1-6, 0-6. Meanwhile, Brad Foreman lost the second match, 6-7 with a 3-7 tiebreaker, followed by a 0-6 shutout. Daniel Courtright won the third match, 7-5, 6-0.

Mountain Home won both boys doubles matches as Ben Dearing and Eric Ward captured the first match, 6-1, 6-1 with Jeremy Gillies and Joseph Spinazzola winning the second match by default.

In mixed doubles, Drew Borgholthaus and Allie Draper lost the first match, 2-6, 2-6, with Haydon Draper and Kiana Galloway falling in the second, 6-7 with a 1-7 tie breaker followed by a 0-6 loss.

Mountain Home hosted Jerome Friday on the courts at Richard Aguirre Park and won both the girls and boys matches.

In girls singles, Stephanie Farnsworth won the first match, 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker and a 6-2 win. Kali Ireland won the second match, 6-2, 6-0, while Karina Guadarrama lost the third, 3-6, 3-6.

In girls doubles, Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger won the first match, 6-0, 6-3, while Kaitlyn Stevens and Heidi Rawlins won the second, 6-2, 6-0.

In boys singles, Timothy Austin won the first match, 6-2, 6-1. Daniel Courtright won the second match, 7-5, 6-4, while Jeremy Gillies won the third by default.

In boys doubles, Ben Dearing and Eric Ward easily won the first match, 6-1, 6-0. Andrew Turner and Joshua Saporta won the second match, 7-6 with a 7-4 tie breaker followed by a 6-1 victory.

In mixed doubles, Drew Borgholthaus and Allie Draper lost the first match, 4-6, 3-6. However, Jacob Hanson and Kiana Galloway won the second match, 6-3, 6-1.

The Tiger netters are off this week for spring break. They head to Nampa on Monday with a match on Tuesday at Bishop Kelly. The travel to Kuna on April 5 before they host their next home match April 9 against Columbia at Richard Aguirre Park.
