Location opens for residents to dispose of unwanted meds

After a yearlong effort, a partnership between local health officials and law enforcement agencies came together last week to help people safely dispose of expired or unwanted medications.

During a brief ceremony Thursday afternoon, officials dedicated a new community drug drop off box, located at the Mountain Home Police Department.

  • Good to see this. I have been holding on to some medications that are expired because I remember reading we are not to flush them or throw them away. I'll be using this soon.

  • City Officials, this is a good program. When will we have somewhere to bring our household hazardous waste. You know as well as I do, once a year isn't adequate because people move and get rid of things throughout the year. You also know as well as I do, where it's been going because there is no avenue to dispose of it properly.
