Foundation nearly breaks record during fundraiser

A close-to-record amount of money was raised Saturday evening during an event aimed at promoting big game habitat preservation and restoration.

With the final funds still being counted, 20th Annual Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet had already raised more than $75,000.

Putting that into perspective, 72 cents out of every dollar collected by the foundation that day will go toward its conservation efforts, said , banquet chairman Jeff Day.
