"We went over there and really took care of business against Jerome and Canyon Ridge," said Tiger wrestling coach Lynn Knudson. "We put some young kids in the lineup... and it all worked out."

Mountain Home also wrestled in the Bonneville Duals over the weekend in Idaho Falls, winning five of nine matches and placing eighth.

They opened Friday against Bonneville and lost 71-5, but bounced back with three wins, beating Hillcrest 51-36, Idaho Falls 57-27 and Madison 54-24.

Saturday's action saw them open with a 45-36 win over Rigby before losing to Skyline 42-34 and Blackfoot 52-27. They bounced back with a 63-24 win over Shelley and finished with a 51-33 loss to Pocatello to go 5-4 for the tournament.

"Any time you go down there and wrestle nine matches in two days, that's tough," said Coach Knudson, "but it just helped us get into better shape (and) gave our kids more experience. And once again, we had a number of young people in there, so just that experience that they're getting, improving their record, but also improving their skill level, that's what we're always looking for. It's definitely going to help our team here in the long run."

In other wrestling action, the Tiger junior varsity quad competed at the Bear-Cat Tournament in Jerome, where the team finished seventh.

Brett Stempfley won the 132-pound weight class and Josh Saporta was second at 106 pounds. Nick Cruz (132) and Dallin Dearing (220) both placed fourth. John Rooney was fifth at 120 pounds.
