Sandy Derrick from the B&W Wrecker company starts to hoist a semi trailer off a concrete barrier near the intersection of South Main Street and East 12th South Street on Friday.

The trailer lodged itself on top of the barrier after the driver took a corner too sharp as he turned off South Main Street across from the city animal shelter around 8:50 a.m.

A Union Pacific railroad crew working at the crossing stepped in to divert freight trains that normally travel through the area since the front of the 18-wheeler was trapped on the rail crossing. It took roughly an hour for crews to free the trailer and restore vehicle and rail traffic in the area.
