The Mountain Home Tigers boys soccer team had their best effort yet this season with two wins and a tie last week.

Mountain Home 1, Bishop Kelly 0

The Tiger boys continued their mastery of Bishop Kelly this season, beating the Knights 1-0 for the second straight time last Monday at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.

Tony McKenzie scored Mountain Home's goal off an assist by Tyler McCloud. Meanwhile, Tomas Guillen had five saves on goal for Mountain Home while Jack Richelieu added 10.

"We played pretty well in the second half," said Mountain Home boys soccer coach Jay Lockett.

Mountain Home 1, Emmett 1

The Tigers battled to a 1-1 tie with Emmett during an away game last Thursday in a make-up of a game that was postponed because of bad weather earlier in the season.

Paul Rooney scored the Tigers' goal while Jack Richelieu finished the evening with nine saves as goalkeeper.

Mountain Home had 18 shots on goal for the day, but only got one in the net.

"We played real well in the second half," Coach Lockett said.

Mountain Home 2, Kuna 1

The Tigers dominated the home field to beat Kuna, 2-1, Saturday in conference soccer at Eastside Park.

Julian Puente and Drew Borgholthaus each scored a goal for Mountain Home while Jack Richelieu made 10 saves on goal for the Tigers with the team making 16 shots on goal.

"We played great," said Coach Lockett. "We played a complete game. It's a nice time to start getting our game together, with district starting next week."

The Tigers traveled to Middleton on Monday and close out their regular season schedule today, Oct. 5, at home against Emmett during Senior Night.

The district tourney starts Saturday at Skyview High School.
