Lady Tigers extend season record with conference wins

Mountain Home picked up two conference wins last week, beating Columbia and Nampa, but falling to Skyview in conference volleyball.

Mountain Home 16, 24, 25, 25, 15

Columbia 25, 26, 22, 23, 11

After falling down two games to none, the Mountain Home Lady Tigers rallied to win three straight and defeat Columbia in conference volleyball in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium last Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers seemed off their game in the first game, but stayed close until Columbia went on a 14-4 run to end the game 25-16, Columbia.

The second game went back and forth and had seven ties, the last one at 24-24, but Columbia scored the final two points to win the game and go up two games to none.

The third game also went back and forth, and had 11 ties, but the Lady Tigers battled back from a 19-21 deficit to win 25-21.

In the fourth game, Mountain Home did not trail at all, and built up a seven-point lead on four occasions, the last at 22-15. The Lady Wildcats battled back to within one, at 23-22 and 24-23, but Mountain Home held on to win 25-23 and force a fifth and deciding game.

After falling behind 6-9 in the fifth game, a 7-0 run by the Lady Tigers put them up 13-9. They traded points from there for a 15-11 win to capture the match three games to two.

Dylan Dean was 22/25 serving with three aces, eight kills, eight digs, eight assists and two blocks.

Emilee Schetzle was 20/22 on serves with two aces, five kills and two blocks. Krissy Elliott was 14/16 serving with two aces. Stephanie Jewell was 15/16 with an ace and eight assists. Dakota Dean was 15/16 serving with six digs. Selena Foster was 11/12 servin, with an ace, eight kills, seven digs and an assist. Hailey Belt had ten assists, six kills and three blocks. Tessa Pachner had four blocks, two kills and an assist, and Emma Wenger had eight kills.

Skyview 25, 25, 25

Mountain Home 13, 14, 8

The Lady Tigers faced Skyview at Skyview last Thursday and never really got into a rhythm, losing in three straight games.

Dylan Dean was 7/7 serving with three kills and one assist. Dakota Dean was 6/6 serving, Krissy Elliott was 5/5 serving and Brittany Ryan was 4/6 serving. Emilee Schetzle was 4/5 serving with two kills. Stephanie Jewell was 3/5 on serves, with one assist. Hailey Belt had one block and one kill, Emma Wenger had two kills, Selena Foster had one kill and Tessa Pachner had one block.

Mountain Home 19, 25, 25, 25

Nampa 25, 23, 15, 22

Mountain Home also faced Nampa Thursday night at Skyview in the tri-match and, after dropping the first game to the Lady Bulldogs, came back to win three straight to take the match, three games to one.

Emilee Schetzle was 16/17 serving, with one ace, seven kills and three blocks. Stephanie Jewell was 16/17 serving with one ace and five assists. Brittany Ryan was 13/14 on serves, with two aces and seven digs. Krissy Elliott was 10/11 serving, with two aces and six digs. Dakota Dean was 10/13 serving. Dylan Dean was 9/11 on serves with six kills, nine digs and three assists. Hailey Belt had seven assists and seven kills, Selena Foster had ten kills, Tessa Pachner had four blocks and two kills and Emma Wenger had three kills.

The Lady Tigers, now 6-5 in league play and 18-15 overall, played at Kuna Tuesday night. They return to action on Oct. 4 at a tri-match at Bishop Kelly against the Lady Knights and Emmett.
