The 51st annual Air Force Appreciation Day in Mountain Home kicks off this weekend -- the community's largest celebration designed to honor the men and women at Mountain Home Air Force Base and all others in the uniformed services of the United States.

The main events are set for Saturday, Sept. 10, just a day before the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and feature the state's largest parade and a free barbecue and entertainment in Carl Miller Park.

  • I would have been in the parade again this year if I still lived in mountain home. I wish I was there to at least see it!!!
