The Taco John's restaurant in Mountain Home was robbed early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m.

Mountain Home police said that as a store employee arrived to prepare the store for opening, a man appeared who was described as a white male subject approximately 6' tall, skinny, wearing a red hoodie, black sunglasses, a red bandanna covering his face, baggie blue jeans and a black backpack with a blue inner liner. The victim said that he appeared to be right handed and was about 20 years of age.

The man forced the employee, who was not identified by police, into the back area of the store where the suspect then took an undisclosed amount of money.

Police did not indicate any weapon was used, describing the incident as a "strong-armed robbery."

Anyone with any information in the case is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Russell Griggs at 587-2101. To remain anonymous, visit the Mountain Home Police Departments Silent Witness website at http://www.mhpd.net/silentwitness.htm.

  • oh my gosh! I hope the employee is doing okay after such a horribly traumatic experience. Not that I would wish this experience on anyone, but I really hope the employee wasn't one of our local youth.

  • It is too easy for the bad guys to take advantage of the lax attitudes in Mtn Home. That is a good thing, to have a lax attitude (shows the good life), but it is a bad thing when it comes to what happened at Taco Johns. I hope they are checking the tapes at Wal-Mart. That is probably where the bad guy went before or after his little adventure (probably a Darwin Award candidate). And to the employee who was robbed, hang in there.

  • Now, I take back what I had to say above--about the employee. Yu really did a good one there. I think your (if proven guilty) crime should be put down as a hate crime. Blaming a common looking person from the area. What a good way to do it. By the way, was your partner (if proven guilty) at Wal-Mart before and/or after the crime to get an alibi?
