Another of Kent's favorite activities was switching jobs. Kent worked for more companies and people than any one else I've ever met. Kent did everything from truck driving, tending bar, to cleaning out attics, he didn't care what kind of work, as he gave his all to it. Kent was never afraid of work...he just had a problem with bosses. Kent has probably worked for every company in Glenns Ferry at one time or another.
Kent was in the mountains at Pine with the love of his life Cheri and her family, when he passed last Friday afternoon. Although it may have been left unsaid, Kent let me know that he loved Cheri, and I also saw just how happy and content Kent had become due to her presence in his life. She will always be special to me for this gift she gave my brother.
Like his jobs, Kent went thru a lot of schools, from Blackfoot to Winnemucca to Glenns Ferry to finish the 9th grade in Rupert. Kent never met a book he wouldn't read.
Kent went to the Job Corps then to the Navy.
Kent tried being married once, didn't work out so well, but from that union came a very beautiful daughter, Maci Andreasen.
Kent is survived by Cheri Owsley and her children, Zachary, Phillip, and Jamie; our mother, Marie Ellis and her husband Doyle; our father, Doug Ogden and his wife Pat, our youngest sister Stephanie Hill and her son Evan; our sister Teresa Watson and her husband Brian and her two sons Dylan and Dalton; our brother from California, Gregory Ogden and his wife Kathy and their sons Shane and Colton; and me Craig Ogden, my sons Richard and Dustin and my dog Hank who loved Kent even more than she does me.
We are going to have a memorial service for Kent on Thursday, August 25, at 11 am at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, 500 N 18th E in Mountain Home.
If my brother Kent touched your life in any way, we'd love to have you come and perhaps share your story with us for the memorial service. Instead of flowers, and if you feel the need, contributions to a Maci Andreasen college fund would be the best way to go by sending them to Teresa Watson-Ogden, 1685 W. Lonesome Dove, Meridian, Id 83646.
