Murder suspect bound over to District Court

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

A former fugitive accused of killing a woman and two of her young children in 2002 faces arraignment in district court at the Elmore County Courthouse on Monday.

During the final day of a preliminary hearing this week, Jorge A. Lopez-Orozco was bound over to district court to face first-degree murder charges in the deaths of Rebecca Ramirez and her sons, Miguel and Ricardo.

The family of Rebecca Ramirez, including her surviving children, expressed signs of relief as Magistrate Judge David Epis made the ruling following a preliminary hearing in his court to determine if there was sufficient probable cause to bind him over for trial in district court.
