Students return to school amidst financial crisis

Students returning to school today will find a number of changes from last year as the district struggles to maintain quality with declining revenue.

District officials spent the summer trying to find ways to restore some of the cuts announced last spring -- or to modify them.

The block schedule at the high school was on the chopping block last spring, but the district came up with a modified system that restores part of that popular program.
