Home, business values show big drop

The assessed value of a home in Elmore County fell by an average of 11 percent over the past year with commercial businesses showing an even steeper drop in 2010.

Figures released last month by the Elmore County Assessors Office showed some home property values actually fell by up to 30 percent with a few showing signs of improving.

  • My home was assessed at $20,000 less than last year which makes my home worth less than what I paid for it 14 years ago!
