Rocketry club hosts July 4th launch event

Mountain Home's model rocketry club will hold its first-ever Fourth of July launch event Monday morning.

Scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the gravel parking lot north of Tiger Field off South 18th East Street, club members will demonstrate various types of rockets, including high-altitude sport flyers and exotic kits with non-traditional recovery systems.

Members of the Skies Not the Limit Rocketeers will also hold a multiple rocket launch demonstration to conclude the morning's festivities. The launch will showcase rockets bearing patriot colors and themes as a tie-in to the Independence Day holiday.
