Two men from Montana remained in custody at the Elmore County Detention Center following a high-speed chase on the interstate Saturday.

Jeremy R. Lennemann and Robert W. Dean face multiple felony charges after county sheriffs pursued them from Hammett into Meridian.

The chase began around 4:20 p.m. after both men stopped for fuel at the Hammett Valley Market and Cafe. According to Jack Anderson, who owns the rural service station, they drove off without paying for the gas, which totalled $47.26. Anderson got into his own vehicle and followed them for roughly four miles before county sheriffs arrived.

Robert W. Dean faces a felony charge for criminal possession of a financial transaction card.
