SADDLE-UP FOR ST. JUDE TRAIL RIDE/HIKE

Mountain Home, Idaho, May 30, 2011

Help save lives by riding, hiking or sponsoring a rider in the Saddle-Up for St Jude Trail Ride/Hike to benefit St Jude Children's Research Hospital. (No horse? You are welcome to join in to hike the trail.)

The Saddle-Up Trail Ride/Hike is scheduled for Memorial Day, May 30. Riders and

hikers may head out any time between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Refreshments will be provided.

The event is planned at the Danskin Power Plant, North East of Mountain Home.

and is being organized by Janet Nesbitt and Candy Farley. The goal this year is $2000.

Participants of all ages are asked to help raise funds for this event by getting sponsors. The

funds will go to help St Jude in its ongoing fight against childhood catastrophic diseases.

If you would like to sponsor someone, you can contact any of the coordinators.

The coordinators have said that: "Our goal in holding this event is to help children of the

world who are stricken with diseases like cancer, AIDS, and sickle cell disease. St Jude

Children's Research Hospital is a world leader in the fight against these diseases, and they have made greater progress because of the help of people like the citizens of Mountain Home, Idaho.

This year a quilt made by local quilter, Elizabeth Sears, is being raffled off the day of the event. Fashioned from t shirts of local St Jude rides over the years and with quilting donated by Three Island Quilts of Glenns Ferry, tickets are one for $1, or six for $5. Tickets can be purchased from either Candy or Janet, or at the Phoenix Storybook Co, 2390 American legion Blvd, where the quilt is also on display. Winner need not be present to win.
