Support, opposition highlight Mayfield testimony
A handful of private organizations and county residents voiced their support or opposition regarding plans to build a large-scale community in western Elmore County.
Testimony collected during a pair of hearings last week addressed whether to approve the Mayfield Townsite Planned Community -- a 5,375 acre development that would add another 37,000 people to the county.
During Thursday's meeting, the commissioners agreed to extend the public hearing to a fourth day. The board may start its deliberations following that hearing, which begins at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the courthouse.
