Students earn top honors at film fest

Local area students majoring in film production earned top honors along with hundreds of dollars in cash and prizes during an annual competition Saturday afternoon.

The 2011 Mountain Home Film Festival featured 14 short-subject movies produced by veteran video students along with new film makers competing for the first time.

Celebrating its third anniversary, the festival expanded this year to allow any student in Elmore County between 5 to 18 years old to enter their homemade movies.
