Tennis teams drop three

The Mountain Home Tiger tennis team dropped its final three matches of the regular season last week.

The Tigers traveled to Emmett last Monday and came away on the short end of both boys' and girls' matches.

In girls' singles, Carolyn Bailey dropped the first match, 2-6, 6-7 (TB 7-9). Natalie Bush went three sets in the second match before losing 3-6, 6-1, 0-6. Stephanie Farnsworth lost the third match 0-6, 2-6.

In girls' doubles, Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger lost the first match in three sets, 2-6, 6-4, 2-6, and Brytany Minder and Kali Ireland won the second match 0-6, 6-2, 7-5.

In mixed doubles, Jared Mott and Brittany Ryan won the first match in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, while Timothy Austin and Allie Draper lost the second match in three sets, 3-6, 7-6 (TB 7-5), 3-6.

In boys' singles, Justin Rogow lost the first match 3-6, 4-6, Daniel Courtright lost the second match 3-6, 0-6 and Wilson Ong went down 1-6, 1-5, in the third match.

In boys' doubles, Jalen Gibbons and Blake Pachner won the first match, 6-0, 5-1 and Jacob Hanson and Eric Ward dropped the second match 5-7, 3-6.

The Tigers hosted Nampa last Tuesday at the airbase courts and lost both the girls' and boys' matches.

In girls' singles, Carolyn Bailey dropped the first match 5-7, 0-6, Natalie Bush won the second match 6-3, 7-5 and Stephanie Farnsworth lost a close third match 4-6, 6-7 (TB 7-9).

In girls' doubles, Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger dropped the first match 6-7 (TB 6-8), 3-6 and Anna Martin and Leah Riley won the second match in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

In mixed doubles, Jared Mott and Allie Draper won the first match 6-3, 6-4 and Jeremy Gillies and Kali Ireland lost the second match 2-6, 1-6.

In boys' singles, Justin Rogow lost the first match 3-6, 4-6, Timothy Austin lost the second match 1-6, 2-6 and Daniel Courtright dropped the third match in three sets 2-6, 6-2, 2-6.

In boys' doubles, Jalen Gibbons and Blake Pachner dropped the first match 2-6, 1-6, while Jacob Hanson and Eric Ward went down in three sets in the second match 7-6 (TB 7-5), 0-6, 4-6.

The Tigers hosted Kuna for Senior Day at the base courts on Thursday, honoring 11 seniors and their parents prior to the match.

In girls' singles, Carolyn Bailey (senior) won the first match 6-3, 6-1 and Natalie Bush won the second match 7-5, 6-1. Stephanie Farnsworth dropped the third match 3-6, 5-7.

In girls' doubles, Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger dropped the first match 2-6, 1-6, while Rebecca Young (senior) and Brytany Minder lost the second match 0-6, 1-6.

In mixed doubles, Jared Mott (senior) and Anna Martin dropped the first match 1-6, 1-6, while Chris Hall (senior) and Allie Draper lost the second match 0-6, 0-6.

In boys singles, Justin Rogow (senior) lost the first match 3-6, 4-6, Daniel Courtright lost the second match 3-6, 0-6 and Wilson Ong (senior) went down in the third match 0-6, 0-6.

In boys' doubles, Jalen Gibbons (senior) and Blake Pachner (senior) dropped the first match 2-6, 2-6 and Ben Cumber (senior) and Drew Borgholthaus dropped the second match 3-6, 4-6.

Two seniors, Sophie Stoltmann and Richard Goldsberry were unable to participate in Senior Day due to injury and illness.

The District III 4A tennis tournament will be hosted by Skyview in Nampa from Thursday, May 12, through Saturday.
