Trailing after three rounds, students from Hacker Middle School and Mountain Home Junior High School battled back to finish second overall during a regional academic and trivia competition April 19.

Held at the junior high school, the Academic Bowl was one of seven tournaments scheduled throughout the year to test students from schools across the Treasure Valley.

The event was the second time that Mountain Home had "home field advantage" during this year's Academic Bowl season, said Stephen Speak, who coaches the Mountain Home team. The team hosted the season's first event Oct. 19.
