Model rocket club hopes to form

Friday, March 11, 2011

Model rocketry enthusiasts in the Mountain Home area will meet at noon March 19 in hopes of forming a local club.

Hosted by the Wondertrail hobby store at 705 Airbase Road, a launch exhibition will follow at 1 p.m. at Bert Landon Field south of town.

Interest in the club follows the city's first-ever model rocketry day last May. The event allowed novice rocketeers a chance to build and fly their own hand-made creations.

  • Scoutin, I think that's a great idea. Bert Landon Field has more than enough space to accommodate an outlet like this in addition to RC aircraft and rocketry. I'd recommend mentioning it to the city parks and recreation department or come join us at Saturday's meeting.
