Letter to the Editor

Thanks for Medicaid Matters support

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Dear editor:

This letter is in regards to the Medicaid Matters Rally in Mountain Home on Feb. 19 at Carl Miller Park.

What a great turnout! Thank you to Mayor Tom Rist, Chief of Police, John Walter, Sen. Tim Corder, Public Defende, Terry Ratliff, Tami Jones, President of Idaho Behavioral Health, and fellow guest speakers who poured their hearts out to inform the community of how Medicaid Matters to them.

I want to send a huge thank you to Parks and Recreation, especially Debbie and Todd, who were extremely helpful in assisting in any way possible.

I would also like to thank Rusty Earl, who dedicated his time and effort into helping document community members and their stories for publication.

In addition, the staff at Idaho Behavioral Health who were very patient during the last ten days with their efforts in getting the word out to the public to make this rally a success! Thanks everyone!

We could not have made this possible without the great efforts of our friends and family members who dedicated their time to volunteer at the rally. You are all appreciated!

Lastly, adult mental health services and developmentally disabled services are faced with budget cuts by legislatures. We need to make sure we are supporting the issues that matter most to our community. We will all be affected one way or another through budget cuts, which also includes education.

Please take the time to contact your legislator and tell them how Medicaid Matters to you! Every voice counts!

Barb Teroy,

Program Director, Idaho
