Banquet speaker urges citizens to 'dare to dream'

A balanced life and working to achieve your dreams are important to success because "dreams are mighty," Cherie Buckner-Webb, the first African-American elected to the Idaho Legislature, told the large crowd attending the 22nd Annual Black history Banquet at the Elk's Lodge last Friday.

In a busy world, she said, it is time to "re-establish the integration of our personal and professional lives."

"The first goal, is to have a dream of what you want to accomplish," in life, Buckner-Webb said in her keynote address, which was filled with both inspiration and humor.

  • A great evening. The speaker was awesome and the award winners were terrific. Congrats to CD on Person of the Year. As always the Service and dinner were also splendid.
