After the war she worked at textile mills and other jobs until 1959, when she met a young U.S. Air Force Airman. It was instant love. They were married in Nancy, France, on Feb. 1, 1960, and Mitzi followed her husband all over.

They retired in 1975 in Madrid, Spain, spent some time seeing and visiting friends around Europe, then came back to Mountain Home where they had been stationed in 1965 and during his time in Vietnam.

Mitzi ran the Mountain Home Animal Shelter (Elmore County Humane Society) for 12 years. Mitzi loved animals.

Her other hobbies were ceramics, painting, stamp collecting and photography.

Mitzi is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Magee, and her daughter, Darlene Wilson, of Mountain Home.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, and her brother, Walter.

The family requests memorials, in Mitzi's name, be made to the Mountain Home Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 10, Mountain Home, ID 83647.
