City P&Z recommends approval of new church at Salvation Army site

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

On a split vote Monday, the Mountain Home Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approving plans to open a new church near the city's downtown area.

The conditional use permit submitted by the No-Limits Christian Ministries would convert the former Salvation Army building at 535 N.Main St. into a church and counseling center.

"It's been a journey to get this project completed," said Clark Williams, senior pastor for the Christian church.

    Workingbee,

That would never happen here. No one does anything until it is approved by local government. Our leaders are on top of everything and make everyone follow the rules and laws....... NOT in this case, at least that is how it appears on the surface.

  • That's all we need, another church or another mexican restaurant.

Where's the plan for real growth in mountain home?

It sure isn't with this mayor or city council.

It's time for a total change in local government.

Where is the parking for this church? Has everyone forgotten what the Catholic Church had to go through to gets it's building plan approved? I remember on plenty of occasions shopping when it was a store. The parking was atrocious and hard to manuever. If this church is already building then it is already in violation of city building code. The Catholic Church wasn't allowed to tear down one building or turn one shovel full of dirt until it's plan was approved.

Once again the shifty fifty take care of those who take care ($$) of them first.
