Second half of year's top stories opened with a bang

Static electricity triggered an initial explosion of fireworks that started a series of additional blasts at the Desert Canyon Golf Course on July 3, injuring three firefighters as they prepared to set up the annual Fourth of July fireworks display.

The second half of 2010 began with a bang as three firemen were injured while setting up fireworks for the Fourth of July show.

That event was seventh on the list of top ten stories in the Mountain Home News for the year.

The second half of the year was filled with important events, not all of which made the top ten list, such as the construction and opening of the new LDS stake center, greatly expanding the Mormon community's capabilities. But all of them were important to the history of the county.
