Report outlines city's efforts to rally new businesses

Thursday, December 30, 2010
A new restaurant and business complex on State Highway 20 next to Hot Creek Road represents one of several business opportunities city officials continue to pursue.

As communities across southern Idaho cope with economic downturns, city officials here continue to actively encourage businesses and industries to establish roots in the Mountain Home area.

Six projects outlined in a report presented to the city council Monday evening represent several initiatives the city's economic development office pursued in recent months.

While most of companies didn't select Mountain Home as they narrowed their list of prospective candidates, other businesses remain "very interested" in coming here, said Paula Riggs, who heads the city's economic development office.
