Jessie Tindall

Jessie J. (Prentice) Tindall, 86, of Mountain Home, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Jessie was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Ely, Nev. She was the oldest of four children born to Myrtle M. (Smith) Prentice and George W. Prentice.

Jessie was raised in Mountain Home and attended Mountain Home schools.

She married Chester "Chet" J. Tindall on Oct. 8, 1942, in Boise. They lived at the Tindall Ranch at the old site of Tindall, Idaho, until they moved to Mountain Home in January of 1946. At that time, they bought Brown's Second Hand Store which eventually became Tindall's Furniture Stores.

Jessie worked in the stores for 31 years, retiring when they sold the stores. During her years in the retail business, she was a charter member of the Hospital Auxiliary and active in the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters, and other civic organizations.

After retiring, she was active as a volunteer for the hospital, Red Cross, Visitor's Center, and Historical Society.

Her favorite pastimes included reading and traveling to such places as Europe, the Orient, the British Isles, Scandinavia, the Panama Canal, Alaska and Hawaii.

In her younger years, she loved to dance. Jessie is survived by her husband, Chet, her daughter, Shannon Todd and her husband, Mike Boyer, her son C. Wayne and his wife, Susan Tindall, her daughter-in-law, Jackie Tindall, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Ellen Deitz, Celia Hall and Bob Prentice.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and oldest son, Ivan K. Tindall.

Memorials can be made to the Elmore Medical Center, 895 N. 6th East ST., Mountain Home, ID 83647, or the Christian and Baptist Church, 265 N. 4th East St., Mountain Home, ID 83647.
