Thursday, November 18, 2010

For the first time in more than 10 years, a debate team from Mountain Home High School won a debate division at the Whitman College Debate Tournament in Walla Walla, Wash.

Two weeks ago, the team of Carolyn Bailey and Austin DeJohn won the novice division of Public Forum Debate at the largest debate tournament in the Northwest.

A total of 46 high schools were represented at the three-day tournament and Bailey and DeJohn, competing in only their second debate tournament, brought home the first-place award.
