Two arrested in string of burglaries

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Mountain Home police have made two arrests in connection with a series of recent car burglaries in Mountain Home.

Charged in the cases are:

* Jacob Mitchell D'Amour, 21, of Mountain Home.

* Amanda Stephanieirene Ellis, 22, of Mountain Home.

Since around Oct. 10, there have been approximately 14 cases involving car burglaries where electronics, purses and other valuables have been taken.

In many of those incidents the items were left in plain view in a vehicle and a window broken to gain access and take the items.

This investigation continues as detectives attempt to recover items taken in the burglaries and determine if there are any more incidents that have not been reported. Persons who believe they may have been a victim in any of the burglaries are being asked to contact the Mountain Home Police Department to make a report as soon as possible.

Detective Ty Larsen is the lead investigator in the case and can be reached at 87-2101.

  • Seems that the Forrest Gump byline fits nicely here.

Now if they have to pay back for all the property and the damage done to vehicles would even be better.

If these two are found guilty, then they should be punished in the correct manner. It is a shame that stoning is not allowed. Can you tell I have low tolereance for anyone that steals from the hard working people of this city?

  • Bet the PD gets them both off with a slap on the hand and a reduced fine and time served. Any bets?

  • Hi guys, well I was one of the victums. I think stoning is a little harsh. I don't think a slap on the hand's works either. I feel that they get their driving licence's revoked for a 3 year period. Do a year in lock up to see how they like it. then have to do 2 mind you, year's of county and city work like picking up the trash and hand sweeping our streets every day no days off and no pay. Some country's chop their hands off. I think this would be a nice altrunative. What say you??

  • OpinionMissy...In what world do you live in where the Police Department decides what punishement they get? That is up to the Judge/Prosecutor/Jury. It appears that your personal bitterness affects your judgement.

ID=Home its appears you don't understand OM, it appears her PD refers to the Public Defender. Not the Police Department.

  • My apologies. I am use to reading negative comments 90% of time so I jumped to the conclusion.

  • PD=Public Defender...just like it always has on here. ID=Home, it appears that your lack of common sense affects your judgment and makes you sound bitter. Have a nice weekend.

  • Public humiliation would be good...give them a good spanking in front of the courthouse. Maybe make them wear signs like "thief", for the next couple of years.
