Football players from Mountain Home and local communities take on against players representing 42 high schools at the 15th Annual District III High School Shrine All-Star football games Nov. 27.

Sponsored by the El Korah Shrine, kickoff for the eight-man all-star game begins at 10:30 a.m. at Eagle High School's Thunder Stadium with 11-man all-star action following at 2 p.m.

"Attend the game and watch your local high school players compete against the best," said Charlie Bull, a spokesman with the El Korah Shrine.

Local players representing the East 11-man squad this year include defensive lineman Tyler Wright and linebacker Colton Zamara from Mountain Home High School. Meanwhile, this year's eight-man East squad includes Chance Pierce and Francisco Garcia from Rimrock Junior/Senior High School.

Players competing in both upcoming contests were selected based on nominations from Division III coaches and represent schools in the 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A conferences.

Tickets for the all-star event are $12 for adults and $6 for students up to age 18 and available at the stadium gate. Proceeds benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Idaho Children's Hospital Transportation Fund.

The Shriners Hospitals for Children includes a network of 22 hospitals that provide orthopedic, burn and spinal cord injury care free of charge to patients up to age 18. For more information on the all-star game or the Shriners, call 208-343-0571.
