Memorial established for McRae

Friday, September 24, 2010

Family friends established a memorial fund last week in honor of a Mountain Home Junior High School youth who died Sept. 11.

Ryder McRae, 12, was critically injured during an all-terrain vehicle accident on Midnight Blue Way near Airbase Road past the Highway 51 junction the previous evening.

He later succumbed to his injuries at a Boise trauma center.

Pioneer Federal Credit Union established the memorial fund in his memory. People may submit donations to the Ryder McRae Memorial Fund at any of the credit union's branch offices.

In addition, representatives with the Wondertrail hobby and gaming store in Mountain Home -- a place that Ryder frequented every week -- plan to host a series of tabletop strategy games in coming weeks in his memory. Entry fees collected from the tournaments will go toward the newly established memorial fund.

  • It is nice to see the Community pulling together in the wake of this tragic loss of a wonderful young man. I knew both Ryder and his older brother whom is a Senior this year at MHHS. My heart goes out to the McCrae Family.

My heart is out to them also. Until you've lost a child, you can't understand the total devastation.

  • the death of this child is secondary to parental abuse/child neglect. In addition, St Al's has no trauma system, they have beed discredited.

  • Yes, trewq, what did you mean by that comment? I hope you were not implying that this death was anything other than a tragic accident.
