City works to clean up 'dirty water' issue

The city of Mountain Home has become a victim of its own success -- and local residents are complaining of dirty water as a result.

When the new well in Richard Aguirre Park went on line recently, city officials expected there would be some minor sediment problems in the water. That's normal with a new well and usually disappears in a few days.

But the new well also increased water pressure, which has stirred up sediment buildup in water lines throughout the city, and that sediment is now appearing in tap water.
