Delegation: MHAFB one of U.S.' vital bases

Friday, July 9, 2010
Members of the Mountain Home delegation meet with Gen. William M. Fraser, during their recent visit to Air Combat Command headquarters at Langley Air Force Base, Va. The delegation included, from left, state military affairs special assistant Billy Richey, Mayor Tom Rist, military affairs committee chairman Ray Liercke and Air Force chief of staff and ACC commander civic leader group representative Alan Bermensolo.

Mountain Home Air Force Base remains one of the nation's most important installations with guaranteed stability for at least the next 20 to 30 years, according to local leaders.

"For true military value, this is one of the shining stars in the Air Force," said Alan Bermensolo, who joined a delegation of business owners and elected officials that met with senior Air Force officials and state legislators in recent weeks.

Bermensolo was one of four people that visited Air Combat Command headquarters in Virginia followed by a similar visit with the Air Force chief of staff at the Pentagon this spring. Others making the annual trip included Mayor Tom Rist, state military affairs special assistant Billy Richey and Mountain Home military affairs committee chairman Ray Liercke.

  • I am grateful for these individuals who so freely give of their time to further the benefits of Mountain Home AFB to our friends in Washington DC. I am confident that without theirs and many many others who have unselfishly given in the past we would not be has blessed as we are today with having the base in our community.

    Best wishes for continued success,

  • And how much ($$$) did Mtn Home fork out to send these four illustrious delegates to D.C.?? Would not one or two representatives have been sufficient to impress the socks off this General?
