Sixth grade students from Hacker Middle School got their first up-close look at life in a junior high school environment during an orientation visit to the school May 19.

Approximately 320 students packed into Mountain Home Junior High School as part of the annual tour aimed at helping them prepare for their first day of classes at the school.

Sandie Jett selected 32 students from her leadership classes to serve as chaperones during the middle school visit as a way to relate their own personal experiences with the underclassmen. These teens "are on the front lines" at the school every day and can share their experiences with their peers, she said.
