140 students welcomed into junior honor society

Honoring traditions of citizenship, leadership, character, service and scholarship, the local chapter of the National Junior Honor Society welcomed 140 students into the organization during a ceremony May 17.

Hundreds of parents packed into the Mountain Home Junior High School commons area to witness the annual event.

Those inducted into the national society included 19 eighth grade students and 46 seventh graders from the junior high school as well as 65 sixth graders finishing their second year at Hacker Middle School.
